Leviticus 18:1
וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
and YHWH spoke to Moses saying,

Leviticus 18:2
דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃
Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, “I am YHWH, your God.”
Paraphrase: This is the message I want you to deliver to My people. “First, take careful note of the defining fact of your existence. That fact is this: I am the Great King, YHWH (Exodus 6:2); I am your God. You shall not have any other God’s besides Me.” (Exodus 20:3)

In regards to the formula אֲנִי יְהוָה, Hartley writes: “These self-introduction formulae function to locate the authority of a passage, law, or summons to obedience in the name of the giver of that word, namely Yahweh. That is, a formula raises the authority of a law or a series of laws above the socio-political sphere to the divine sphere. Leviticus, 292.
Leviticus 18:3
כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֧ה אֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַ֛יִם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְשַׁבְתֶּם־בָּ֖הּ לֹ֣א תַעֲשׂ֑וּ וּכְמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה אֶֽרֶץ־כְּנַ֡עַן אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֲנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אֶתְכֶ֥ם שָׁ֙מָּה֙ לֹ֣א תַעֲשׂ֔וּ וּבְחֻקֹּתֵיהֶ֖ם לֹ֥א תֵלֵֽכוּ׃
As the lifestyle of the land of Egypt among whom you lived, you will not do, and as the lifestyle of the land of Canaan where I am bringing you, you will not do and according to their statutes you will not walk.
Paraphrase: Now you will remember the Egyptians and how they lived and all the god’s they worshipped. Do not take these customs and practices with you; they are detestable to Me. Beware also of the lifestyle of the Canaanites where I am taking you. They too have all sorts of wicked practices and customs. Do not walk in their paths, but…

Leviticus 18:4
אֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַ֧י תַּעֲשׂ֛וּ וְאֶת־חֻקֹּתַ֥י תִּשְׁמְר֖וּ לָלֶ֣כֶת בָּהֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃
My laws you will do and My statutes you will keep to walk in them; I am YHWH, your God.
Paraphrase: …but stick close to My laws; keep the statutes which I have laid out for you. These are the good paths in which you should walk. Always remember, that I am the Great King, YHWH who made a covenant with your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I am the One who brought you out of the land of Egypt and into the land I promised to your fathers. These laws, which I am giving you, come from Me and are just so many beams from the sun of My perfect holiness.

Leviticus 18:5
וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֤ם אֶת־חֻקֹּתַי֙ וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתָ֛ם הָאָדָ֖ם וָחַ֣י בָּהֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָֽה׃ס
and you will keep My statutes and My laws which if a man might do them, and he will live in them. I am YHWH.
Paraphrase: Now these laws which I am giving you, they come directly from Me. I am the Great Creator of heaven and earth; I know the fabric of this universe and how one can flourish in it. I made a covenant with you at mount Sinai, and I will repeat here what I said there. If you keep My laws, then you will live long in the land which I am giving you to possess. If you do not keep my commands, then you will be driven out of this land by your enemies, and I will punish you for your unfaithfulness. Never forget this covenant which I made with you.
