adverbial and adjectival questions

These are questions that grammarians use to determine whether a given word, phrase, or clause is functioning as an adjective or an adverb.

  Adverbial questions: Examples:   video
how? Jeb ran quickly.           (Jeb ran how?)
why? Jeb studied to earn his degree.              (Why did Jeb study?)
where? Jeb slept under the bridge.           (Jeb slept where?)
when? Jeb ate his food after sunset.           (Jeb ate when?)

  Adjectival questions: Examples:  video
how many? Six dogs chased Jeb.
what kind? The oak tree near the house must be removed.
which one? The large book must be burned.
