Ezekiel 37:3 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם הֲתִחְיֶ֖ינָה הָעֲצָמ֣וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה וָאֹמַ֕ר אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִ֖ה אַתָּ֥ה יָדָֽעְתָּ׃

Ezekiel 37:5 כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה לָעֲצָמ֖וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה הִנֵּ֨ה אֲנִ֜י מֵבִ֥יא בָכֶ֛ם ר֖וּחַ וִחְיִיתֶֽם׃
Ezekiel 37:6 וְנָתַתִּי֩ עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם גִּדִ֜ים וְֽהַעֲלֵתִ֧י עֲלֵיכֶ֣ם בָּשָׂ֗ר וְקָרַמְתִּ֤י עֲלֵיכֶם֙ ע֔וֹר וְנָתַתִּ֥י בָכֶ֛ם ר֖וּחַ וִחְיִיתֶ֑ם וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
Ezekiel 37:7 וְנִבֵּ֖אתִי כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צֻוֵּ֑יתִי וַֽיְהִי־ק֤וֹל כְּהִנָּֽבְאִי֙ וְהִנֵּה־רַ֔עַשׁ וַתִּקְרְב֣וּ עֲצָמ֔וֹת עֶ֖צֶם אֶל־עַצְמֽוֹ׃

Ezekiel 37:11 וַיֹּאמֶר֮ אֵלַי֒ בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם הָעֲצָמ֣וֹת הָאֵ֔לֶּה כָּל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵ֑מָּה הִנֵּ֣ה אֹמְרִ֗ים יָבְשׁ֧וּ עַצְמוֹתֵ֛ינוּ וְאָבְדָ֥ה תִקְוָתֵ֖נוּ נִגְזַ֥רְנוּ לָֽנוּ׃

Ezekiel 37:13 וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה בְּפִתְחִ֣י אֶת־קִבְרֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם וּבְהַעֲלוֹתִ֥י אֶתְכֶ֛ם מִקִּבְרוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם עַמִּֽי׃

Robertson says that וַיְהִי is the equivalent of καὶ ἐγένετο in Greek. source Van der Merwe says that it may be compared to the ‘and then’ which young children say when they are telling a story. Grammar 332.
Ezekiel 37:16
וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־אָדָ֗ם קַח־לְךָ֙ עֵ֣ץ אֶחָ֔ד וּכְתֹ֤ב עָלָיו֙ לִֽיהוּדָ֔ה וְלִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל חֲבֵרוֹ וּלְקַח֙ עֵ֣ץ אֶחָ֔ד וּכְת֣וֹב עָלָ֗יו לְיוֹסֵף֙ עֵ֣ץ אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְכָל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל חֲבֵרוֹ׃
and you, son of man, take to yourself one stick and write on it “For Judah, for the Sons of Israel, and his companions”. Then take another stick and write and write on it “For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel and his companions.
Paraphrase: The Great King, YHWH, spoke to me even though I am a weak and helpless human person. He told me to take a stick of wood and to write the name of Judah on it. Then, He told me to take another stick and to write Joseph on it. The first stick was to represent the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin while the second stick represented the ten tribes in the north which had split away from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. Before a vocal sheva, the conjunction is a shureq as in both instances of וּכְתֹב. Note as well the plene spelling in the second instance.
Ezekiel 37:17
וְקָרַ֨ב אֹתָ֜ם אֶחָ֧ד אֶל־אֶחָ֛ד לְךָ֖ לְעֵ֣ץ אֶחָ֑ד וְהָי֥וּ לַאֲחָדִ֖ים בְּיָדֶֽךָ׃
and join them one to the other for yourself to one stick, and they shall become one in your hand.
Paraphrase: Now take these two sticks and join them together such that they become one stick. If you do this correctly, there should be just one stick in your hand.
Comments:
We would expect וְקָרַב to be hifil, to cause to draw near.
The conjunction on וְהָיוּ is not a vav-conversive; therefore, it stays future tense.
Ezekiel 37:18
וְכַֽאֲשֶׁר֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יךָ בְּנֵ֥י עַמְּךָ֖ לֵאמֹ֑ר הֲלֽוֹא־תַגִּ֥יד לָ֖נוּ מָה־אֵ֥לֶּה לָּֽךְ׃
and when the sons of your people speak to you, saying “Will you not reveal to us what these things to you?”
Paraphrase: When your fellow Jews see what you are doing, they, of course, will want to know what it all means. This is now the teaching opportunity I am seeking.
Comments:
The conjunction כַאֲשֶׁר can introduce a comparison or be a temporal marker. Here it is the latter.
Ezekiel 37:19
דַּבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם כֹּֽה־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒ הִנֵּה֩ אֲנִ֨י לֹקֵ֜חַ אֶת־עֵ֤ץ יוֹסֵף֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיַד־אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְשִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל חֲבֵרוֹ וְנָתַתִּי֩ אוֹתָ֨ם עָלָ֜יו אֶת־עֵ֣ץ יְהוּדָ֗ה וַֽעֲשִׂיתִם֙ לְעֵ֣ץ אֶחָ֔ד וְהָי֥וּ אֶחָ֖ד בְּיָדִֽי׃
Speak to them, “Thus says Lord YHWH! Behold I am taking the stick of Joseph which is in the hand of Ephraim and the tribes of Israel and his companions and I will set them to him with the stick of Judah, and I will make them one stick, and they will become one in My Hand.
Paraphrase: Tell them, “This is the word of YHWH, the Great King! What you see here is a picture of what I intend to do in the last days. I will gather the ten, northern tribes out of their exile just like Ezekiel went and fetched this stick. Then I will do the same for Judah. I will bring both of these back to the promised land and will join them together just as My servant has fused together these two sticks into one.”

The northern tribes had been taken into exile in 722bc; Ezekiel was writing just after the final destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar. (Ezekiel 33:21)
Ezekiel 37:20
וְהָי֨וּ הָעֵצִ֜ים אֲֽשֶׁר־תִּכְתֹּ֧ב עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם בְּיָדְךָ֖ לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃
They will be sticks on which you will write in your hand before your eyes.
Paraphrase: Be sure to keep the two sticks on which you wrote and which you joined together in plain view of all the people. I want everyone to see them and to understand the object lesson.

Ezekiel 37:21
וְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם כֹּֽה־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִה֒ הִנֵּ֨ה אֲנִ֤י לֹקֵ֙חַ֙ אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִבֵּ֥ין הַגּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָֽלְכוּ־שָׁ֑ם וְקִבַּצְתִּ֤י אֹתָם֙ מִסָּבִ֔יב וְהֵבֵאתִ֥י אוֹתָ֖ם אֶל־אַדְמָתָֽם׃
and speak to them, “Thus says Lord YHWH! Behold, I am taking the sons of Israel from between the nations which they went there, and I will gather them from the surrounding areas, and I will cause them to come to their land.
Paraphrase: Continue to show them the meaning of the two sticks and say to them, “Thus says the Great King! Look at these two sticks now joined together into one. You might wonder how this can ever happen when all Israel is now in exile and scattered among the nations. Do not think that this is any obstacle to Me! I will search them out and lay hold of them. No matter where they may have landed, no matter how far away they may be, no matter what sort of oppression they might be under, I will find them, and I will cause them to return to this land which I promised to your fathers.”

Paraphrase: Then, I will establish them as one people in this land. The mountain peaks of Israel will look down on one nation and one people. There will be one king ruling over them all. Never again will there be any talk of ten tribes to the north or two tribes in the south. There will be one land, one king, and one kingdom.
