correlative conjunctions

A correlative conjunction is a conjunction using two conjunctions to connect a word, phrase, or clause. video

Both Jeb and Mary will need to retake the test.

I will eat my hat if either Mary wins the race or Jeb finishes the race.

 


Greek:

και… και… = both/and
μητε… μητε… = neither/nor
ουτε… ουτε… = neither/nor
ἢ… ἢ… = either/or

 


Hebrew:

The conjunction גַּם is often used to make a correlative conjunction in Hebrew as in Genesis 43:8. cf §628.
