1. What is the duty of the church living in the world?
The church has been called to preach and teach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:18-20)
2. Why is preaching necessary to salvation?
Paul answers this by saying: “How shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:14)
3. What is the aim of teaching?
By teaching the church instructs people “to observe all things whatsoever Christ has commanded.” (Matthew 28:19)
4. What does the Bible require of all who hear the gospel?
The Bible commands that they repent of their sins, believe in Christ as Savior and Lord, and live a life obedient to God’s will. (Acts 2:38; Colossians 2:6, 7)
5. Why does the church have classes for its baptized children and young people?
By these classes the church teaches them the meaning of their baptism, in order that they may confess Christ before men, join believingly in the work and worship of the church, and show in daily living that they belong to the Savior. (Phil 1:27)
